B. R. COHN WINERY: 2ND ANNUAL CHARITY CAR CLASSIC Sunday, July 04 12:00 - 5:00 pm B. R. Cohn Winery With July 4 fast approaching, Bruce Cohn, proprietor of the B.R. Cohn Winery of Sonoma Valley and himself a classic car collector, builder and aficionado is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual B.R. Cohn Winery Charity Car Classic will be held at the B.R. Cohn winery on Sunday, July 4, 2010 between Noon and 5 P.M. The exhibit is free to visitors and will feature extraordinary cars, great wine and food, and music. While the exhibit is free, the event is a fundraiser for Salvation Army and a portion of the proceeds from all sales and donations will benefit this deserving charity. Critically acclaimed B.R. Cohn wines will be available for purchase as well as food from Cochon Volant “Flying Pig BBQ” the latest culinary venture from Rob Larmen, formerly of the popular Le Poste restaurant in Sonoma and Locomotive BBQ featuring BBQ oysters and additional food vendors will be on site to round out the tasty afternoon. Bring the family and picnic blanket and enjoy a great patriotic summer day and raise money for a great charity.
Since he was sixteen, Bruce Cohn has been in love with fast and collectable cars. He currently owns four of them; a 1933 Willy’s Roadster, a 1941 Willy’s Sedan Delivery, 1934 Henry Ford Five-Window Coupe and a 1946 Ford Woody Wagon. All these cars and many others will be on display July 4 not only at the winery exhibit but additionally can be seen parading during the city of Sonoma’s July 4 celebration around the historic plaza, in front of 10,000 spectators Saturday morning prior to the exhibit.
Bruce’s prized possession, his 1933 Willy’s recently took top honors of “Best of Show” at the 7th Annual Peggy Sue’s All-American Cruise 2009 in Santa Rosa. The “Best of Show” winner was out of 800 cars entered. The Willy’s recently took top honors at Pomona and Sacramento shows as well. Sponsors include Bank of the West, KRON-4, Sonoma Chevrolet and others.
As for the car exhibit on July 4 Bruce Cohn enthused, “We had such a great turn-out of beautiful cars last years, all types, and the visitors really enjoyed the experience. It‘s like great art with great wine.”
B.R. Cohn Winery is located at 15000 Sonoma Highway 12 in Glen Ellen. The tasting room is open daily from 10 – 5pm.
